Fiat has officially announced a new two-seater roadster that will go on sale in 2016.
It’s inspired by Fiat 124 Spider that was produced between 1966 and 1985. The design if the new Fiat 124 Spider is very interesting in my opinion, the headlights seem similar to those of Mercedes-AMG GT S and taillights seem similar to the new Jeep Cherokee. The cars shape reminds of Mazda Miata/MX5.
The new 124 Spider will have a six-speed gearbox and will have 1.4 liter turbocharged engine from Abarth 500 which produces 138 bhp. USA will also get a 160 bhp version when the car will go for sale.
The 124 weighs about 1050 kilograms – very similar to the MX5. The 124 Spider will be built in Hiroshima at Mazda’s factory alongside the MX-5, so perhaps we can expect many similarities betweem those two.
